20 Mar Compressive Neuropathy and Treatment
Compressive peripheral neuropathy is a medical condition that occurs when a nerve in the body is compressed or pinched, leading to damage or dysfunction. The condition can affect any peripheral nerve, which is any nerve outside of the brain and spinal cord, but is most commonly observed in the arms and legs.
The symptoms of compressive peripheral neuropathy can vary depending on the affected nerve and the severity of the compression. Some of the common symptoms include pain, numbness, tingling, weakness, and muscle atrophy. These symptoms can be mild or severe, and they may develop gradually over time or appear suddenly.
There are many possible causes of compressive peripheral neuropathy. Some of the most common causes include repetitive motion, traumatic injury, disc herniation, spinal stenosis, scoliosis, and prolonged pressure on a nerve due to spinal misalignments.
